A downloadable game

[Work In Progress, project on hold]

The Wandering Albatross is a "Social Stealth" game where the main character has to sneak through 3D environments by avoiding the gaze of strangers.

Crossing the line of sight of NPCs can have dramatic effects: if said NPC has a negative attitude, the Player's anxiety level will rise, blurring their vision and impeding their movement. If the NPC has a more gentle attitude, anxiety will go down, restoring the Player's vision and movement.

If anxiety levels reach a certain threshold, Shadows will come to take the player away. The Player must avoid them and hide and get their anxiety level to lower, using a breathing exercise, to make the shadows go away.

If the Shadows grab the Player, they'll take them to their own realm where their heart will shatter... but a shattered heart is not the end, and the Player can gather the shards to come back to life.

The Player's goal is to find lost children whose powerful hearts have fallen prey to the Shadows and to bring them back from the dark.

One of the technical challenges, and one aspect that I was particularily proud of achieving, was the Shadow monsters that are entirely made of particles.

The project was started as part of an end of game-dev course 2 weeks long assignment, but was ultimately put on hold because of scope issues.
